Chad Mitchell, first and foremost, is husband to his wife, Ashley and dad to his daughter, Alexis. His family lives and serves in ministry in Abilene, Texas. He is a gifted communicator who passionately speaks from the Word of God. Chad currently serves as lead pastor of Mission Abilene, a church that focuses on loving the underdogs and outcasts of society. He passionately pursues those who are forgotten or deemed unreachable, showing them that the love of God reaches all. He is unswerving in his devotion to stand against injustice and to empower the homeless, the addicted, the battered and beaten, and the convicted to rise above their circumstances through salvation and discipleship.
In the spring of 1997, Chad surrendered his life to full time ministry, and since then his unique, straight forward speaking style has given him the privilege to speak in hundreds of different settings all over Texas and much of the U.S.--youth camps and rallies, Disciple Now events, Christian concerts, crusades, citywide revivals, church services, and street outreaches.
He is passionate about spreading the truth and grace of Gods story far and wide to all who need a message of hope and redemption, not just through the spoken word but also the written word.
This year, he has broadened the horizons of his ministry through writing. His first book, The Superman Syndrome, will be published this summer in July 2009. The book will offer insight, hope, and encouragement to Christian leaders and pastors in every avenue of ministry through his own personal reflections and experiences as well as biblical truth and wisdom. His second book, Beyond Plastic Christianity, will be published in the fall of 2009.
